Unlocking Localisation Opportunities in South Africa’s Apparel Industry
The Localisation Support Fund (LSF), in partnership with the Project Management Office (PMO) of the Retail-, Clothing, Textile, Footwear, and Leather (R-CTFL) Masterplan, is driving a critical initiative to scale up local manufacturing in South Africa’s apparel sector. With research led by BMA, this study is designed to identify and realise large-scale localisation opportunities in support of the Masterplan's objectives.
What we’ve achieved so far:
In Phase 1, we identified 75 million+ additional units across 32 product categories for localisation through to 2030.
