23 September 2023
The Localisation Support Fund (LSF) hosted a Round Table discussion to report on its findings from a value chain mapping study of local manufacturing capability in South Africa’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) sector.
Discussions focused on the T&D value chain and the insights from LSF’s report on local manufacturing capabilities and delivery within the sector.
Among other findings, the report unpacked proposed initiatives to promote and strengthen local manufacturing in the T&D value chain, highlighting specific opportunities for local production.
The LSF is a non-profit company established in 2021 by private sector contributors committed to advancing the localisation of manufacturing in South Africa. It promotes localisation by partnering with stakeholders across the manufacturing ecosystem—both supply and demand side—to fulfil its mandate. The LSF funds industry research and deploys technical experts to help accelerate or unblock growth opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
